Ken Uva

Kenneth Uva is a retired attorney with a BA in political science from Adelphi University and an MA in law and politics from New York University, in addition to his JD from Fordham Law School.

He was born in Brooklyn and spent the first part of his life in the Brooklyn of the 1950s in a working class neighborhood now called Ocean Hill, on the cusp of East New York, Brownsville, and Bedford Stuyvesant. The family later moved to Long Island where he attended high school. After college he lived in the Bronx, Greenwich Village, and currently in Forest Hills, Queens.

In addition to his legal career, he is a frequent writer. His works include an American history textbook and various contributions to local publications, The New York Times Book Review and, most recently, essays on various websites, including Daily Kos.
